If you look real hard you can see Venus just above the first dark blue and reddish cloud bank. The Planet appears as a pinpoint somewhat below the diagonal cloud formation in the center top of the image, and in the dark thin portion of clouds. Venus, was just visible to the naked eye only a few minuets before this was taken.
Purple skies - Venus and Mercury as images during a close conjunction in very late June 05. I waited for a break in the clouds to get this shot. The colors were very beautiful this evening but difficult to see both the planets together at one time. I finally got the break I was praying for and took this picture!
