The University of Pittsburgh holds an open house every year at its Allegheny Observatory located in Pittsburgh's Riverview Park every fall. http://www.pitt.edu/~aobsvtry/ The Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh www.3ap.org Helps out by setting up some of their telescopes outside for the guest to look through while waiting for their tour time to begin. Other members serve as guides inside along with some of the observatory staff and astronomers. This year was not very clear but people did get to see the Moon and some double stars and clusters.
