Pictured is my 6 inch f-10 refracting Telescope on back porch of my home. The lens, cell, tail stock and 2 inch focuser are all by Jaegers. The focuser is currently set for 1.25 inch eyepieces, but I have a "straight thru" assembly that accomendates a 2 inch star diagonal & eyepieces that I can change for special observering. The instrument is mounted on a Edmund Scientific Co Equatorial mount, somewhat modified for the heavy tube assembly. The tripod to the left is also an old Edmund Scientific Equatorial that I use on my 3.25 inch f-15 refractor, also a Jaeger lens telescope. (not pictured.)

The Moon taken with a Nikon 990 Digetal camera on the night of Dec 1, 2004. Image taken with 40 mm University Optics eyepiece, at only 38 x. Conditions windy, good transparancy. I took this by only hand holding the camera to the eyepiece. Much more fine detail seen at the telescope than what is visible in this shot.

The bluish or purplish color of the lens is a coating of Magnesium Floride to increase light transparency.

The lens is a little dusty in this shot in November 2004. I cleaned up the elements since then!!

This view is of the Edmund Scientific Co Equatorial Mounting.
The mount has been slightly modified to extend the Declanation axis to help off set the heavy tube assembly. This mount has factory setting circles and a base that rotates. Also of interest the hardened plastic knobs that lock the telescopes axises have inexpensive extentions that make tightening a breeze.

Observers end of the telescope. Shows the "tail stock assembly". Also shown is a 12 x finder scope. The Rack & pinion focuser, features red focusing knobs and is set up for 1.25 inch standard size occulars. You can unscrew the black housing that is attached to the draw tube and attach a "straight thru" housing and use 2 inch star and occulars!
