Well the Nov 8, 2006 Transit of Mercury accross the face of the sun was a total bust from Mingo Creek Park Observatory in Washington County. We could not even see the sun's disk all day due to cloud cover. A number of observers and members were present despit the bad weather. However Paul Campbell sent me this image from Bridgeville- which shows the sun and Mercury crossing. We all at Mingo should have been this lucky!!
Dan McKeel brought this MINT Celestron C-5 to the Transit Event. He made his own solar filter using card board, filter material and a hot glue gun. - (image by Dan.)
